Basic Principles
Uses a sphere with a circular passage as the opening/closing component. The sphere rotates with the valve stem, revolving around an axis perpendicular to the passage, thereby achieving the purpose of opening/closing the passage and controlling the flow of media. For example, in a pipeline, if you want to cut off or connect the medium, rotate the valve stem, and the sphere rotates accordingly, realizing the opening and closing of the passage.S
Scope of Application
Applicable media: water, oil, gas, and certain corrosive liquids (such as nitric acid, acetic acid, etc., choose valves with corresponding compatible materials). In pipeline systems for industries such as petroleum, chemical, food, pharmaceutical, railway, water treatment, steel, and metallurgy, they are often used to transport these media.S
Temperature range: Generally -20℃ to 350℃. Different sealing ring materials have different applicable temperatures, such as reinforced PTFE sealing rings for -29℃ to 180℃; PEEK sealing rings for -29℃ to 300℃.S
Nominal pressure: Usually 1.6 - 6.4MPa. Some can adapt to higher pressure scenarios, for example, some have nominal pressures up to 1000PSI, 1500PSI, 2000PSI (subject to specific product parameters).S
Structural Features
Low fluid resistance: The channel design is relatively smooth, and the medium encounters less obstruction when passing through, which can reduce energy consumption. It has obvious advantages in pipelines requiring low resistance, such as fluid conveying systems sensitive to flow loss.S
Simple structure, easy to maintain: Composed of a three-piece structure (main parts like the valve body are divided into three pieces), it is relatively small in volume and light in weight. During maintenance, internal components can be easily disassembled and replaced; for instance, worn sealing rings can be quickly removed and replaced.S
Good sealing performance: Valve seats often adopt elastic sealing structures and other forms, providing reliable sealing, reducing the risk of medium leakage, and ensuring the safety of the pipeline system. For example, good sealing is crucial when transporting flammable, explosive, or toxic media.S
Not limited by installation direction: The medium flow direction can be arbitrary, allowing flexible installation. It can be adapted for horizontal, vertical, or other angled pipelines, simplifying the installation process and layout.S
No vibration, low noise: Good stability during operation, will not produce significant vibration or loud noise due to the valve itself. Suitable for places with high requirements for environmental noise and equipment vibration, such as hospitals or pipelines near precision instrument production workshops.S
Standards and Specifications
Design and manufacturing standards: Complies with GB/T 12237 - 2007 and others, ensuring the standardization and consistency of products in the design and manufacturing stages.S
Structural length standard: Refers to GB/T 12221 - 2005, providing a unified reference for the structural length of valves produced by different manufacturers, facilitating adaptable installation in pipeline systems.S
Socket weld standard: Based on GB12224, ANSI B16.25, etc., standardizing the process, dimensions, and other requirements for socket weld connections to ensure welding quality and connection reliability.S
Pressure and temperature ratings: According to GB/T 12224 - 2005, clarifies the performance and applicability of valves under different pressures and temperatures, guiding selection.S
Test and inspection standards: Based on GB/T 13927 - 2008 and others, tests the sealing, strength, and other properties of valves to ensure product quality.S
